Peanut Butter Lover's Box! It's a tradition at LL to make peanut butter our star flavor for Mother's Day chocolates. For one thing, peanut butter is a gender neutral flavor. Isn't it funny to think that flavors are gendered?! But it's true, right?

For Father's Day you're supposed to make rustic chocolates that aren't too pretty and are filled with whiskey and smoke and spice. For Mother's Day you're supposed to make flowery, pretty, girly chocolates. Valentine's Day Lite. Whatever.

So. Peanut Butter Lover's Box. We make peanut butter chocolates for Mother's Day because it's fun to have traditions, because it's fun to mess with the traditional flavor profile of this holiday, because we love this box so much and because...my mom's initials were PB. Pauline Benjamin, who we celebrate every day with her eponymous peanut butter cups, but even more on this day. She's no longer on this earth in bodily form, but when she was she sure liked all these peanut buttery bonbons, and I hope the tortoiseshell cat she's undoubtedly been reincarnated as gets the chance to joyfully push these off a table or something.

In keeping with our non-traditional Mother's Day box, we like to remind ourselves to expand the definition of "Mother's Day" to celebrate those who are motherly in all ways, not just women who have given birth to children. Single dads, motherly figures in your life, your drag mom, your grandmother, the transwomen who have mentored you, the sister who raised you—whatever "mom" means to you.

Here's what's in the box! 

• 3 Spicy Peanut Thai Caramels. We eagerly anticipate the return of these beautiful weirdos every year. Savory caramels based on a Thai peanut sauce. Fragrant with lime and chili. Not too spicy. Garnished with crushed peanuts.
• 3 Peanut Butter Cups: our nontraditional, ultra peanut buttery, not-too-sweet cups.
• 3 Salted Peanut Butter Caramels: Simple and delightful, garnished with a sash of sea salt.
