Our July 2010 Chocolate of the Month was so beloved that we couldn't bear to stop making them (actual quote from a fan: “Please please please make them a regular!!!!”). We’ve partnered with Friends of Animals, a group that tirelessly advocates for the rights of animals to live free on their own terms, to offer these special caramels again, with half of the price going directly to Friends of Animals. Your purchase of these chocolates supports not only a tiny chocolate company devoted to sustainable practices, but also a grassroots animal advocacy group doing vital and difficult work.
Here’s what people are saying about the caramels on our Facebook page:
- “Seriously—the best thing you've ever made.”
- “The rosemary sea salt caramels are extraordinary. Ah! Now, all other chocolates must meet the fate of being compared to yours.”
- “OK, when I said they were delicious, it may have been an understatement—my husband and I ate 2 boxes in 2 days!!! We must sound like pigs, but those caramels are the best things ever. For real.”
- “I ate a piece when I got home this afternoon, letting it get to room temperature as you advised. Divine! Love how a hint of the rosemary taste infuses the caramel the whole time it melts away. This is the best chocolate ever.”
Oh, and Isa Moskowitz, vegan cookbook author queen supreme, said: “Those were incredible. I’m still dreaming about them.”
