Pauline Benjamin Dubkin-Yearwood is my mother, a true hero on so many levels. Even when she was not safe in her marriage, my mother was working tirelessly for animal rights. A dedicated shelter worker and animal activist on many fronts, she is the most compassionate and caring person I have ever met. I admire her tremendously for her courage in escaping an abusive marriage to build a new life halfway across the country. Her thoughtfulness and ethic of deep care continue to inspire everyone she knows.
